I started my HAM radio hobby in small city Brody in western part of Ukraine in 1977 like SWL with callsign UB5-068-494. In 1980 I have been accepted to Minsk radiotechnical institute and my family also left Ukraine for Belarus Republic.
In 1980 I have got my second SWL callsign UC2-010-098. My main interest was collecting countries and awards. As SWL I was able to confirm 310 DXCC entities and got more than 400 different awards. On the spring of 1984 I have received my first HAM radio lisence and my callsign was UC2SAN (general). My first radio setup included military receiver R-250M and military transmitter for two bands – 80 and 40m – RSB-5 together with dipole antenna. In six years I have upgrated my license to extra and got new callsign RC2SA that started to be on air since 01.01.1990.
Until November, 1990 for some reason I was not able to be very active on the bands, only sometime on clubstation. On late 1990 I have installed my first beam antenna – 2 el quads for 20, 15 and 10m and some dipoles for 80 and 40m. Since that time I started to be on the air almost every day.
My main interest on that time was collecting countries for 5B DXCC award. Been in USA in 2003 I have passed exam to Gordon West, WB6NOA and obtained my US lisence KG6QIO.
Since February, 27, 1994 I started to use the new callsign EU7SA and then since 13.04.2011 – EU7A.
The main my result in HAM radio you can find on site “my awards”.
